Anonymous Women: Domestic Demise — A Solo Exhibition by Patty Carroll
The Kentucky College of Art + Design is proud to present Anonymous Women: Domestic Demise, a solo exhibition by renowned photographer Patty Carroll, on view from September 25 – December 4, 2025 at the 849 Gallery.
A Playful Exploration of Women and Domestic Life
Carroll’s Anonymous Women series playfully explores the complex relationship between women and domesticity. By cleverly disguising her figures in drapery and household objects, Carroll transforms the “Anonymous Woman” into both a mystery and a muse—inviting viewers into a witty game of visual hide-and-seek.
In Domestic Demise, everyday routines centered around eating and drinking take center stage. What might appear ordinary at first glance quickly becomes delightfully absurd, turning familiar domestic scenes into theatrical moments that are equal parts hysterical and hilarious.
