Tuition and Scholarships

KyCAD’s scholarship program encourages the most talented students to study here and create a meaningful body of artwork over the course of their college journey. Because KyCAD aims to create an accessible and inclusive community of artists, every applicant admitted to our program is reviewed for a scholarship opportunity.

In the 2024-25 Academic Year, more than $750,000 in scholarships were awarded to enrolled students.

Tuition and Fees for the 2025-26 Academic Year

Full-time Tuition: $30,000 per year
(Full-time is defined as 12.0 or more credit hours per semester)

Part-time Tuition: $1,250 per credit hour

Scholarship opportunities

Institutional Merit Scholarship
Eligibility: All students admitted to the college. These scholarships are applied based on an applicant's admission documents including their transcript and portfolio.
Award: Up to $5,000

Institutional Program Scholarships
Eligibility: Students must be admitted to the college and complete a scholarship application which includes a 150-word essay on their program of study.
Award: Up to $5,000

KEES Award
Eligibility: High school students in Kentucky earn scholarship through their GPA and ACT scores. More information can be found at www.kheaa.com.
Award: Up to $4,000

GSA Scholarship
Eligibility: Students who participate in the Governor's School for the Arts Program in Kentucky automatically earn this scholarship.
Award: $2,000

Ky State Fair "KyCAD Award" Winners
Eligibility: KyCAD offers a number of awards at the Kentucky State Fair to students participating in the Fine Arts Sector. This scholarship is given to the recipients of these awards.
Award: $2,000

Ky "Seal of Arts Excellence"
Eligibility: The Department of Education selects students they wish to recognize as demonstrating advanced skill in the arts. If you are a recipient of the Seal of Excellence, you receive an automatic scholarship to KyCAD.
Award: $1,000

A Participant of the Academy of LVA
Eligibility: Students who participate in "The Academy of LVA", an arts program hosted by the Louisville Visual Arts Association, earn this scholarship.
Award: $1,000
