COVID-19 Response Plan

Certainty in a time of Uncertainty - Our Plan to Reopen Campus Operations in response to COVID-19

KYCAD COVID-19 Response Plan

FALL 2022

All members of the Kentucky College of Art + Design Community have an essential role to play in keeping our students, faculty, staff, and the KyCAD community safe by doing our part to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The college continuously monitors CDC and local health guidance and makes updates to its protocols from time to time. All members of our community must comply with the most current protocols set by the college.

MASKING

KyCAD follows masking procedures based on infection rates for Jefferson County. Masking while on campus is not mandatory when county infection rates remain within “low” parameters as reported by the CDC (see: https://govstatus.egov.com/kycovid19 for more information and regular updates on county infection levels).

If county infection rates for Jefferson County rise to a moderate or high level, all individuals, including employees, students, and visitors, will be required to wear a facial covering that covers the nose, mouth, and chin while in common spaces of the Kentucky College of Art + Design buildings, including classrooms and hallways. In addition, during times of moderate or high infection levels, masks will be required during social gatherings except when eating or drinking.

If you have questions about these procedures, contact the KyCAD COVID-19 Response Team at covid19@kycad.org.

TESTING

If any member of the KyCAD community test positive or has been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 they should stay home and quarantine. Then they should report exposure to Covid19@kycad.org. A member of KyCAD’s Covid-19 tactical response team will contact the community member to discuss next steps.

VACCINATION

KyCAD is requiring all faculty, students and staff to complete the Self-Certification of Vaccination Status form.

Please note that you may decline to provide your vacation status. If you decline to provide information about your vaccination status, we will be required to assume you are unvaccinated for purposes of rules or requirements that may be different for vaccinated employees or students. For example, individuals where vaccination status is undetermined may be required to complete COVID-19 testing throughout the academic year.  Also, if requirements on masks/face coverings allow fully vaccinated individuals not to wear masks/ face coverings in certain settings, the information you provide will be used to determine whether you will be required to wear a mask/face covering in those settings.
