Assistant Professor of Studio Art
Jena Seiler is an artist, educator, and scholar. She has a PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts and an MFA in Studio Art from Ohio University.
As an educator, Seiler has taught studio and lecture courses, including teaching in a semester-length study abroad program centered on the fine arts in London, England. Her academic and artistic work focuses on how sensing and thinking through visual and auditory media can reveal issues of power and the limits of representation. She has exhibited in solo exhibitions, collaborative group shows, and film festivals across the United States.
Seiler’s film work includes a series of experimental short films and collaborations with filmmaker Tijah Bumgarner. Seiler won Best Editor from the Oil Valley Film Festival for her work on Bumgarner’s feature length film Meadow Bridge (2017).
